Ephemera Collection
Various materials (print and non-print), not easily categorized as part of the official records of the Museum but which document exhibitions and other aspects of Museum history in a unique way. This collection may have been produced for a specific short term purpose or, in the case of artifacts, for a purpose other than documentation. May or may not have been created by or for the Museum.

This collection contains scrapbooks with newspaper and magazine clippings related to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
High Ideals and Aspirations Collection
This collection of material is related to the Museum’s official history, High Ideals and Aspirations. The files primarily contain correspondence, interviews, magazine articles, book chapters, research papers, newspaper clippings, and photographs.
Karen Meizner Files
The Karen Meizner Files, dated 1980-1991, contain correspondence, reports, and other miscellaneous materials created or collected during her time as head of cataloging at the Spencer Art Reference Library.
Director Emeritus Records
The Director Emeritus Records, dated 1977-1985, consist of correspondence and other miscellaneous materials collected and maintained while Laurence Sickman held the title of Director Emeritus at the Museum.
Lindsay Hughes Files
The Lindsay Hughes Files, dated 1942 to 1946, contains correspondence and other miscellaneous materials. The collection relates entirely to Hughes’s tenure as Acting Curator of Oriental Art and her work on behalf of the Chinese chidren orphaned by World War II.
Building Superintendent Records
The records of the Building Superintendent, dated 1933-1973, consist of correspondence, reports, financial records, an unpublished manuscript, and other miscellaneous materials related to the day-to-day operation of the museum building.
Ellen Goheen Files
The files of Ellen Goheen, dated from 1971 to 1998, were compiled over the course of her career at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. They consist primarily of correspondence, memoranda, reports, grant proposals, loan forms, contracts, scholarly articles, and other miscellaneous materials.
