Lindsay Hughes was Acting Curator of Asian Art, 1942-1946. Additional correspondence from her, dating from 1940-1944, is found in box 3, folder 2, filed with Sybil Brelsford's correspondence, and includes letters Hughes forwarded to Brelsford from Curator of Asian Art Laurence Sickman, who was then serving in the Army Air Corps, alternately in England, India, China, and Japan. Brelsford was the secretary for the William Rockhill Nelson Trust. Since she handled purchasing paperwork, reference to acquisitions is found here.
