Individual items such as family correspondence from 1848-1959 are also contained in this series. There are some papers and items such as honorary degrees that relate to his professional life as well.

Included are two "Door Gods" that were part of the wartime propaganda effort and were probably dropped as leaflets from USAAF planes. There are also a few pieces of correspondence and one telegram.
