Comprised of 13 items including legal documents related to the settlement and disbursement of the estate of John Smart (1740-1811), an English painter of portrait miniatures, to his widow Mary Morton Smart Caley and his children John James Smart and Sarah Smart; an 1867 diary kept by John James Smart; and personal letters and financial documents of John James Smart.
