This series contains correspondence between Ralph T. Coe, the Performing Arts Foundation, museum administrators, manufacturing companies, and other people involved in the coordination of The Magic Theater. These files also include copies of the opening night “happening” invitation, and plans for opening night, last minute arrangements as recorded by Susan Wood (Coe's secretary) and general reference articles, publications, and brochures on other exhibitions similar in scope. Additionally, these files contain correspondence between Coe and the four museums that hosted the exhibition including Museum of Contemporary Crafts (New York, NY); Montreal Museum (Montreal, Canada); Toledo Museum (Toledo, Ohio); and City Art Museum of St. Louis (St. Louis, MO). Also included in these files are copies of newspaper and magazine articles and critics’ reviews of the exhibition.
